Who Pays for Research Studies?
A wide variety of organizations and individuals sponsor research studies, including:
- Physicians
- Medical institutions
- Foundations
- Voluntary groups
- Producers of medical devices
- Pharmaceutical companies.
Since these organizations are sponsoring the research, they will usually pay for all the medical exams, tests, treatments, and follow-up care. While this is the most common arrangement, it isn't always the case. So be sure to talk to the Study Doctor to learn more about how your specific study is funded.
