Participating in Medical Research

Am I Eligible to Participate?

Before you are allowed to participate in a medical research study, you will have to meet certain criteria. These can include factors related to things like your age, medical history, and current health. So, the researchers in charge of the study will probably ask you a few questions to see if you meet the study's basic requirements. Requiring people to meet certain guidelines like this makes the study results more accurate, and helps keep the participants safe.

Do I Have to Participate In Clinical Research?

Just because you are learning more about a research study doesn't mean you HAVE to participate. Your decision to enroll in any study is completely voluntary.

Take some time to learn about the potential risks and benefits of the study, and what will be required of you. And, talk to the Study Doctor and ask any questions you may have.

Once you feel you have a good understanding of the study, you can make a decision that is right for you.
